Types of Scholarships:

Heinrich Boll Foundation offers two types of Scholarship Programs:

Study Scholarship: available for undergraduate and master’s degree programs.
Promotion Scholarship: available for doctoral degree programs.

Requirements of Application Submission:

Evidence of Competence: Proficiency at the B2 or DSH level in German is required.
Academic Standing: Excellent academic performance with high grades; may require A+ verification of academic accomplishments if necessary.
Civic Engagement: Active participation in civic life and demonstrated interest in politics that aligns with the Foundation’s mission.
Shared Values: Preference for candidates who share the Foundation’s values and exhibit commitment to actively contribute to its mission.
German and Other Languages Learning in Germany: Consideration limited to candidates with a bachelor’s degree.
Non-German EU Nationals and Students: Master’s degree is the minimum requirement.
Non-EU Citizens/Students Not Educated in Germany: Master’s degree is the minimum requirement.

How to Apply:

The International Scholarships offered by the Heinrich Böll Foundation in Germany are structured into three distinct phases, as described below.
