Bachelor’s Degree (Taught in Chinese)

• Specialty Duration: 4–5 years

Master’s Degree

• Taught in Chinese: 2.5–3 years + 1-year Chinese prep = Total 3.5–4 years

• Taught in English: 2–3 years (No language prep)

PhD Degree

Eligibility Criteria

General Requirements

• Must be a citizen of one of the eligible countries

• Physically and mentally healthy

• Good moral character

• Abide by Chinese laws and TJU rules

Age & Academic Requirements

• Bachelor’s: Under 25, with a high school diploma

• Master’s: Under 35, with a bachelor’s degree

• PhD: Under 40, with a master’s degree

Language Proficiency

• Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 (≥180); native/fluent speakers may be exempt

• English-taught programs: TOEFL ≥ 80 or IELTS ≥ 6.0; native speakers are exempt or may provide a letter of instruction in English

Application Process

Required Documents

• Diploma(s) and transcripts (high school, bachelor’s, master’s as applicable)

• Passport copy (valid beyond March 1, 2026)

• Language proficiency certificates

• Resume of academic background

• Study/research plan:

  • Bachelor’s: 600+ words

  • Master’s: 800+ words

  • PhD: 1000+ words

• Two recommendation letters (Master/PhD)

• Physical Examination Form (Foreigner version)

• Non-criminal record certificate

• Guardian consent (if under 18)

• Optional:

  • Acceptance letter from TJU professor (recommended for Master/PhD)

  • Awards, publications, or research work (mandatory for PhD)

  • Architecture applicants: portfolio and presentation video

  • Proof of naturalization (if applicable)

  • Current visa (if already in China)

All documents must be in Chinese or English or accompanied by notarized translations.
