About the BWG Youth Scholarship Program

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the BWG Youth Scholarship Program 2025, applicants must meet all of the following requirements.

Residency Requirement

Applicants must be residents of Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Educational Requirements

Students must:

• Graduate from Bradford District High School, Holy Trinity Catholic High School, or another accredited secondary school.
• Be accepted into or currently enrolled as a full-time student at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution.

Application Requirements

Applicants must also:

• Demonstrate an understanding of public service within the BWG community.
• Submit a complete scholarship application before the deadline.
• Apply in only one scholarship category during the current application cycle.

Required Documents

Mandatory Documents

• Proof of admission or enrollment at a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution

Public Service Project

Applicants must submit one of the following:

• A written essay between 500 and 1,000 words
• A 3 to 5-minute video presentation
• A visual or multimedia project accompanied by a 300 to 500-word written explanation

Selection Process

Applications are reviewed by the Youth Council Advisory Committee, which evaluates each submission based on:

• Quality and originality of the submitted project
• Overall contribution to the Bradford West Gwillimbury community

The committee makes recommendations to the Town Council, which approves the final scholarship recipients.

Award Notification

Successful applicants will receive notification by email after the evaluation process.

Scholarship recipients will also be invited to attend a Regular Meeting of Council, where the awards will be formally presented.
